INCHON city in South Korea is building six container berths and an equal number of multi-purpose berths at New Songdo Port. The Inchon City administration stated today that an MOU will be signed next month with Pyne Company of the US and Germany’s Hinneberg.
A total of W1.8Trn ($1.5Bn) will be invested for berth construction and developing port hinterland and a logistics complex.
Each berth would be able to take in 6,000 TEU ships. Construction is expected to begin in 2006.
